We will have a couple of easy hikes over a short distance on this tour. The total distance is no more than a mile.

Due to the dynamic nature of active volcanoes, lava viewing conditions change daily or even hourly. The best viewing of current eruptive activity is on our Twilight Volcano Tour. We will do our best to get you to the closest viewing area providing it is safe and legal.

Wear comfortable clothing in layers as temperatures vary from warm to cool. We recommend bring a light jacket and wear covered walking shoes.

Our tours will operate in wet weather. Rain is common in certain areas of the island which is why we always provide rain gear for your convenience. We only cancel when the weather makes transportation hazardous and/or there are road closures.

Walk through the orchards with your guide learning about the harvesting and milling process while sampling a warm cup of Kona-grown coffee. Then, continue&nbsp;the leisurely drive and pass the scenic view of the Kealakekua Bay and South Point, the southernmost point of the United States.

Enjoy a moment to relax and take it all in at Punalu&rsquo;u Black Sand Beach, a great place to spot marine life from the shore. In addition to the stunning black sand (which is actually lava fragments), this beach is also&nbsp;famous for the population of the endangered Hawksbill turtles and green turtles basking in the sun.&nbsp;

Stop for a local style picnic lunch consisting of teriyaki chicken, fish, sweet potato, and steamed rice with assorted juices, snacks, and bottled water. You&#39;ll be re-energised and ready to continue the adventure.&nbsp;

In the afternoon, visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with a trip around the Chain of Craters Road, for the &ldquo;mountain to sea&rdquo; experience. Various stops are made to view magnificent volcanic eruptions and flow sites of the past, the beautiful park coastline, and the remarkable Thurston Lava Tube formed hundreds of years ago.&nbsp;In addition, your certified tour guide provides an educational and insightful narrative about the volcanoes as you visit Kilauea Iki Lookout, steam vents, Halema&rsquo;uma&rsquo;u Crater, and crater rim trail.

&nbsp;

After enjoying a sit-down dinner at a local restaurant near the park, your guide will take you to a secluded and ideal location for stargazing near Mauna Kea. Depending on weather conditions, you will observe stars, planets, galaxies, the moon, and much more while your guide shares fascinating legends and lore of the sky.

If you would like to make arrangements for cash payment to be collected on the day of the tour, please make a note in your reservation and we will be happy to accommodate you.

Please be advised that we do require a minimum number of four participants on all of our tours. Although your booking has been created, the tour can be cancelled due to low participation. We will attempt to contact you and give an advanced warning of any possible tour changes or cancellations. All tours cancelled due to low participation are eligible for a full refund at the time of cancellation. In the event a tour must be cancelled, we are happy to offer different times or dates that will confirm the excursion will take place.
