The currency used in Fiji is the Fijian Dollar (FJD).

There are no banks in the Yasawa Islands, so it’s important to plan ahead. The bank at Nadi International Airport is open 24 hours, and ATMs are available at Nadi Airport, Nadi Town, Wailoaloa Beach, and Port Denarau.

Some resorts in the Yasawa Islands do not accept cash, so carrying a credit or debit card is recommended, along with some cash for smaller purchases.

Fiji uses 240-volt electricity with three-pin power outlets, the same as Australia and New Zealand.

Many island resorts operate using generators, so electricity may only be available during certain hours, typically from sunset until midnight and again in the morning. Operating times vary between resorts.

Baggage allowances are similar to most airlines. Due to limited luggage space onboard, the following limits apply:

  • One carry-on bag up to 7kg (15lbs)
  • One standard luggage item up to 25kg (50lbs)

Luggage is stored at the rear of the vessel during travel.

Yes. There is a Tour Desk onboard the Yasawa Flyer where you can arrange accommodation, vessel transfers, or extend your trip while travelling. Credit and debit cards are accepted.

Please note that all bookings are subject to availability.

Most areas throughout the Yasawa Islands have 3G mobile coverage, although service may occasionally be intermittent depending on your location.

The main check-in counter is located at the passenger terminal at Port Denarau Marina.

Taxi and coach services can take you directly to the terminal. Upon arrival, look for the South Sea Cruises & Yasawa Adventures Fiji check-in desk, where staff will assist you with boarding and luggage transfers.

Yes. A range of food and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, are available for purchase onboard the Yasawa Flyer.

Personal alcohol cannot be consumed onboard the vessel.

Guests may also choose to upgrade to the Captain’s Lounge on the Yasawa Flyer, which includes complimentary snacks, drinks, and access to an air-conditioned private lounge on the upper deck.

No. Compulsory meal plans are not included in the pass price and cannot be pre-purchased.

Meal plans must be paid directly to each resort in Fiji (in FJD) upon check-in.

Fiji enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round.

The wet season typically runs from November to March and usually consists of short tropical showers mixed with plenty of sunshine, allowing guests to continue enjoying island activities and beach time.

Yes. Valid travel insurance is strongly recommended for all guests travelling in Fiji.

There are limited medical facilities in the Yasawa Islands, and guests may need to return to Nadi for medical treatment if required. Weather and sea conditions can also occasionally impact scheduled travel.

Exploring the Yasawa Islands is easy:

Step 1

Choose your travel duration between 5 and 15 days.

Step 2

Select your preferred accommodation style, including Dorm or Standard room options.

Step 3

Book your first night’s accommodation before departing Port Denarau.

Step 4

Travel throughout the Yasawa Islands using the hop-on/hop-off Yasawa Flyer service.

Please note that all Yasawa Flyer transfers and accommodation bookings must be reserved at least 24 hours prior to travel.

The Yasawa Islands offer a wide range of accommodation styles, from budget-friendly dormitories to private beachfront bures.

Dormitories are ideal for social and budget-conscious travellers and range from small shared rooms to larger multi-bed dorms, with a mix of unisex and female-only options.

Bures (traditional Fijian bungalows) provide private accommodation, with many including private ensuite bathrooms and beachfront locations.

Please note that accommodation standards and facilities vary between resorts. Some properties operate on generator power, which may affect electricity availability and appliance usage at certain times.
