Hobart to Launceston Tour

Day 1: &nbsp;Hobart - Port Arthur &amp; Tassie Devils

Embark on a fascinating journey from Hobart to the Tasman Peninsula. The relentless power of the Southern Ocean has sculpted some truly remarkable caves and arches into solid rock over the years. It&#39;s a sight that truly leaves one in awe.&nbsp;

Start your day with a walk along towering 300-meter-high clifftops&nbsp;pausing at majestic lookouts to witness the mighty waves crashing against dolerite spires. Visit Pirates Bay, Waterfall Bay, Tasman Arch, and the renowned Devil&#39;s Kitchen offeringt spectacular coastal views.

&nbsp;

Up next is the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, where you&#39;ll have a chance to get up close and personal with these iconic critters. Tasmanian Devils, with their small bear-like appearance and powerful bites, are indeed a unique species found only in Tasmania. Feeding wallabies by hand, attending a Birds of the Bush presentation, and gaining insights into local wildlife from the Unzoo&#39;s dedicated staff add an educational touch to your day.

Continuing your journey, arrive at Port Arthur Historic Site.&nbsp; Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead.&nbsp;Discover the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system and get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this inescapable prison.&nbsp;

On your return to Hobart, you travel via the historic township of Richmond. Arriving late the in the afternoon, you will have time to meander the streets and walk across Australia&rsquo;s oldest bridge still in use &ndash; a convict built sand-stone bridge, reported to be haunted!

Depart Hobart heading east then following the coastline north. You travel through the seaside towns of Orford and Swansea as you make your way to Freycinet National Park,&nbsp;famous for its rich and stunning coastal landscapes.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Walk to the&nbsp;Wineglass Bay Lookout where the guide will help you take those sought after photographs and offer you some walking options for the day.&nbsp; This walk takes around 1.5 hours, is graded as an easy but uphill walk.

&nbsp;

For the keen walkers you can continue the walk down to Wineglass beach (2.5 hr return walking time).&nbsp; You have time on this famous beach to take a swim, relax, eat your lunch or meander along the white sands.

&nbsp;

If you prefer to select the shorter walking option, then you can explore other areas of Freycinet with your tour guide. Visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay, Cape Tourville Lighthouse &amp; great short walk.

&nbsp;

Re-group for the return journey. Your final stop on the East Coast is the stunning Devil&rsquo;s Corner winery, where you will have time to take in the magnificent view. It&#39;s the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine&nbsp; (own expense). Then it is onwards into Launceston returning around 6.00pm.

Cradle Mountain National Park is an area of iconic scenery with a wide variety of walking trails to choose. Cradle Mountain is a stunning and World Heritage listed area.&nbsp; With around 5 hours to spend in the National Park we leave our walking itinerary flexible to suit you and the weather conditions on the day.

After departing Launceston you enjoy a short stop in Sheffield &ndash; The Town of Murals. Sheffield is a small and quirky rural village, in the foothills of the mountains. Sheffield is Tasmania&rsquo;s own outdoor art gallery, featuring over 100 paintings on the walls of buildings across the town.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Arriving into the Cradle Mountain National Park, prepare for the walking opportunities ahead. Begin your adventure with an easy 20 minute walk to&nbsp;Pencil Pine Falls.&nbsp;Up next is a hike to&nbsp;Dove Lake Circuit, an easy 6km walk of the stunning lake at the bottom of Cradle Mountain.

&nbsp;

On your return to Launceston, you stop to refresh and refuel at the delicious Van Dieman&#39;s Land Ice Creamery and Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm.

The amazing views of the Hazards mountains greets you as you enter&nbsp;Freycinet National Park. Begin with a 45-minute walk along the Cape Tourville Lighthouse circuit, offering spectacular 360 degree views of the surrounding coastline.

&nbsp;

If you&#39;re feeling particularly active, you can extend your hike down to the beach for swimming, or return from the lookout to check out Honeymoon Bay in the afternoon.

This is an action packed and fast paced day. You make an early start from Hobart and drive directly to the stunning Tasman Peninsula.&nbsp; This area has amazing history, fascinating stories and spectacular scenery.&nbsp;It is also home to Australia&rsquo;s highest sea cliffs.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Spend the morning walking along 300-metre-high clifftops. Enjoy the panoramic views of the area from Pirates Bay Lookout,&nbsp;Waterfall Bay, Tasman Arch and the famous Devil&#39;s Kitchen, all of which provides a great vantage of the surrounding area.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Next stop is the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo.&nbsp;Arrive here for all the action of a Tasmanian Devil Feeding. Watch the snarling, fighting and bone crushing in a spectacle of devilish behaviour during the feeding.&nbsp; Hand feed the wallabies and walk among the local fauna and flora in the charming Unzoo&nbsp;setting.

&nbsp;

Continuing your journey, arrive at Port Arthur Historic Site.&nbsp; Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead.&nbsp;&nbsp;With around 2 hours here, you have time to walk among the main penitentiary; see the solitary confinement cells and many more buildings in this World Heritage open-air museum.

We really love our last day tour of cradle mountain ,our tour guide who is only one can lead tour in Launceston but he wanted us get safe and enjoy the mountain hike , he get on their first want us and make sure us safe and then tell us how to go down and quick .
