Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a maximum weight limit?

Yes, there are weight limits in place to ensure full safety compliance. Please refer to the terms and conditions section for more details about the weight restrictions for this tandem skydive experience.

We suggest wearing loose, casual clothing with fully enclosed shoes, such as running or sports trainers. Shoes such as hiking boots, sandals, and high heels are not recommended. If you’re jumping in the colder months, we also recommend wearing a jumper and long pants like tracksuit pants or jeans, as it can get pretty cold at 15,000ft!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Skydive Australia cannot currently offer any shared clothing, so please make sure you’re fully prepared!

We recommend removing any loose items before your Noosa skydive, including dentures/false teeth. If you’d prefer to remove these right before your jump, please let the Skydive Australia team know so they can safely return these items to you after your jump.

Nope! There’s no need to remove your glasses or contact lenses before your tandem skydive. You will be provided with special goggles that will fit over your eyewear and keep them in place, allowing you to properly take in the epic views below. However, if you are wearing contact lenses, we do ask that you let your instructor know before the jump so they can effectively cater to your needs.

Don’t worry - if the weather is unfavourable on the day of your booking, your jump will be rescheduled to another date that best suits you! Rather than going off the forecast, Skydive Australia will make all weather decisions on the day of the jump. This will ensure you don’t miss out on potentially beautiful weather due to inaccurate weather predictions.

If there is heavy rain, strong wind or low thick cloud coverage that will not clear, your tandem skydive will be cancelled and rescheduled. When this happens, the team will be sure to let you know of all necessary changes as soon as possible.

If it is partly cloudy or there are a few small showers, you can expect your skydive to go ahead as planned. This is because you’ll generally be able to jump in this type of weather without it negatively affecting the experience in any way.

Being a little scared is all part of the experience! Once you arrive on the day and have gone through the training and met your instructors, you’ll feel much more at ease. If you are still feeling a little nervous or scared, make sure to tell your instructor so they can help ease your nerves!

Including the safety briefing, plane ride, and the jump itself, your Noosa skydive will typically last between 3-4 hours. Whilst we endeavour to complete your skydive within this timeframe, skydiving can be a full-day activity. Please allow for unforeseen delays due to events such as unfavourable weather and air traffic control.

Unfortunately no. While it might be a great story to tell your kid someday, there are strict safety policies and procedures in place that simply won’t allow it. You’ll have to wait until your bub is born before you can take to the skies!

Insurance is not compulsory, but it is available if you’d like it. Skydive Australia offers all patrons the option to add on personal insurance. This costs an additional $30 to be paid on the day and will cover up to $50,000 in medical fees.

Skydive Australia endeavours to accommodate everyone and is happy to make additional accommodations to ensure a fun skydiving experience for all. However, your safety is ultimately the top priority, and it is crucial you inform the company of any disability before securing your booking.

While jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft can certainly seem like a pretty intimidating thing to do, tandem skydiving is actually considered to be a very safe activity. As well as having a range of safety measures in place, you will have a highly trained and experienced instructor controlling both your jump and your parachute.

All tandem skydive safety equipment is also subject to strict safety standards, undergoing regular checks and maintenance to ensure full functionality and compliance. Additionally, modern tandem rigs are equipped with automatic activation devices (AADs) that automatically deploy the reserve parachute in the highly unlikely event the main chute does not deploy in time.

Yes, as part of our commitment to providing the safest possible experience regarding the spread of COVID-19, at all our locations, we will require all customers and spectators over the age of 16 to be fully vaccinated with a Government approved COVID-19 vaccine, in order to enter our premises or take part in a tandem skydive with us.

By law, the minimum age to tandem skydive in Australia is 16 years old. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present on the day of the jump.
